Caravelle

Caravelle

Tuesday-Saturday:10.30h-00h | Weekend Brunch:10.30h-16h | Wi-Fi

After selling two critically-acclaimed gastro pubs – The Easton in Clerkenwell and The Princess in Shoreditch, Zim and Poppy arrived in Barcelona in a well-loved 1984 Volkswagen Caravelle. They sold the camper van to pay for a La Marzocco coffee machine and… 12 months later opened the doors of Caravelle.

In the heart of the Raval, Caravelle is a laid-back cafe/restaurant with a serious dedication to good food. Top-quality ingredients are sourced as locally as possible, and put together simply, with the emphasis always on flavour and fun – not fuss.

Everything from the sausages, to the ketchup, to the banana bread is hand-made on the premises with loving care. Pork is home-smoked, fresh curd cheese is hung and strained, and cakes are baked daily.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served throughout the week (except mondays) and on the weekends brunch includes home-toasted muesli with plums and vanilla yogurt, Moroccan-style baked eggs,  and french toast piled with roasted bananas in a sticky, salted caramel source.

As for the coffee (and that machine) – It’s ground, brewed, extracted and served differently to most places in Spain. Come and try it, we think you’ll like it.
